LOCAL 251 INTEGRITY SLATE PLATFORM

LOWER DUES

Our goal is to lower the members dues. Local 251 members currently pay 3 times their hourly rate. We want to lower Local 251 dues to 2.5 times their hourly rate to be in line with the rest of the locals in the IBT.

ORGANIZE CORE INDUSTRIES

Aggressively start organizing freight, construction and waste management.

START A HIRING HALL

Our goal is to start a legal and fair, membership friendly hiring hall. 

COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY

We will work for  the member. ALL the members of Local 251 will ALWAYS  come first. We want to hear members concerns and be totally accessible.

ENCOURAGE MEMBER PARTICIPATION

We want the hall to be packed again at monthly meetings, have stronger new member education and orientation. This is your union. WE WILL WORK FOR YOU !!!!!!

STRONGER CONTRACT LANGUAGE

We want to negotiate stronger subcontracting and  successorship clauses in contracts. We also want to negotiate stronger protections against automation in all industries.

Healh Welfare and Pension

  The pension has been bailed out per the " Butch Lewis " Act. This affords us the opportunity to bring more members of Local 251 into the N. E. pension fund.

Consolidation of Locations

Consolidation of all  union administration under one roof. This includes health and welfare and retirees office and store. We will work to make everything  more convenient  for Local 251 members. This will result in a significant savings for our local

Retirement Recognition

Recognition for members with 20 or more years of service. The integrity slate plans to recognize long time hard working members of  Local 251.
